The video has raised fears among Florida residents who leave their homes unattended for various reasons. Unlike in other states where homeowners have lost property rights to squatters, Sheriff Snyder assures that such incidents will not occur in Florida. He cites Florida Statute 82.035, designed to protect homeowners by allowing law enforcement to remove unlawful occupants upon the homeowner’s request.
