Three Arrested in Atlantic City with Drugs and Firearms

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department made three arrests and seized two handguns during a traffic obstruction incident. On the morning of March 23, at 9:35 AM, K9 Officer Adrian Nunez-Santos noticed a vehicle illegally parked, blocking a traffic lane at California and Fairmount Avenues. The vehicle’s driver, identified as Vincente Scalzo, was arrested after Officer Nunez-Santos observed drug paraphernalia visible on the vehicle’s floorboard upon Scalzo opening his door.

Two other individuals in the vehicle, Aubrey Castillo and Lamar Dew, were also arrested following the discovery of two loaded handguns, small quantities of heroin and methamphetamine, and additional drug paraphernalia during a vehicle search. Dew was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant.

Vincente Scalzo faces charges including two counts of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) possession, unlawful weapon possession, being a certain person not allowed to possess a weapon and three counts of possessing CDS paraphernalia. Aubrey Costello is charged with two counts of CDS possession, unlawful weapon possession, and two counts of possessing CDS paraphernalia. Lamar Dew’s charges include unlawful weapon possession, being a certain person not allowed to possess a weapon and two counts of possessing CDS paraphernalia.
