FREDERICK, MD — A local man from Frederick, known as “Rudy,” has won a significant $53,200 prize in the Bonus Match 5 lottery by employing a unique strategy of number patterns that include his address. The method proved to be a jackpot, landing him the game’s top prize.

Rudy, who likens himself to the underdog protagonist of a well-known Notre Dame football movie, has been consistent with his approach, purchasing nine lines for each game and incorporating his address into each set of numbers. His persistence paid off on March 23 when he matched four of the five winning numbers on eight lines, in addition to hitting the top prize numbers of 12, 18, 20, 21, and 25, culminating in a total win of $53,200.

The delivery driver discovered his fortune while checking the numbers on his phone at home, confident in his familiarity with his chosen numbers without needing to physically check the ticket. Rudy plans to bank his winnings, continuing his prudent approach to his newfound wealth.

The winning ticket was purchased at Jefferson Street Exxon in Frederick. The retailer, located at 400 South Jefferson Street, will receive a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize winning ticket, marking a celebratory moment for both Rudy and the local business.
