Newark Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Theft Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Department is reaching out to the community for help in identifying a suspect involved in a theft incident on March 21, 2024.

Following a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Broad and Clay Streets around 11:30 a.m., a suspect reportedly stole the victim’s wallet. The victim, involved in a motor vehicle collision, was approached by three males offering assistance with her damaged front bumper. During this act, one of the individuals was captured on surveillance footage inside the victim’s vehicle, stealing her wallet.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on the suspect to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
