Sisters Charged with Prescription Drug Theft in Monmouth County

FREEHOLD, NJTwo sisters from Atlantic County face charges related to the theft of prescription drugs from a medical facility in Shrewsbury, as announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago and Shrewsbury Borough Police Chief Robert Turner.

Deborah Baskerville, 38, of Galloway, and Shonte Hall, 36, of Egg Harbor City, have been charged with various offenses including impersonation, unlicensed practice of medicine, theft by deception, and theft of a controlled dangerous substance. The investigation uncovered that the theft occurred on October 31, 2023, at Complete Care, a Skilled Nursing Facility in Shrewsbury.

Baskerville, who used Hall’s identity and nursing license, is accused of stealing 10 oxycodone pills valued at $200 and replacing them with allergy pills during her shift. Both sisters turned themselves in to authorities in early February 2024 and have been released on their own recognizance after their first court appearances.

Further investigation suggests Baskerville may have engaged in similar illegal activities at other medical facilities across New Jersey in late 2023. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
