Early Morning Shooting in D.C. Leaves Police Hunting for Armed Suspect

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department’s Fifth District is actively seeking information on a suspect involved in a recent shooting incident in Northeast D.C. The event, marked by an assault and gunfire, fortunately resulted in no injuries.

The incident unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday, around 3:54 AM, on the 1300 block of Okie Street, Northeast. The assailant, armed with a handgun, confronted the victims, assaulting one before discharging the weapon. Despite the shots fired, no victims were struck. Following the attack, the suspect made a quick escape from the location.

Authorities have released camera footage capturing the suspect near the crime. The D.C. Metro Police Department encourages anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or incident details to come forward. Witnesses are advised not to approach the suspect but to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or to send an anonymous tip via the TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
