BALTIMORE, MD – Baltimore police have apprehended a suspect in a homicide investigation stemming from a shooting in the Northeast District earlier this month. The incident resulted in the death of a 29-year-old man.

23-year-old Niyiraha Berry of Baltimore has been arrested for the fatal shooting of Denzel Brown, which took place on March 6, 2024, in the 4000 block of Loch Raven Boulevard. Berry was taken into custody without incident at a residence in the 8000 block of Greenspring Way on March 25.

Following her arrest, Berry was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where she faces charges of first-degree murder. The arrest marks a significant development in the investigation into Brown’s death, which occurred after he sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital despite attempts at life-saving measures.

The original response by police to the shooting included a SWAT team operation at a nearby residence, though no suspect was found at that time. The investigation has since led to Berry’s arrest, bringing a new phase to the case as it moves forward.
