PHILADELPHIA, PA—A significant update has emerged regarding the violent incident that occurred early in the morning on Sunday at 2100 West Oxford Street.
An off-duty officer from the 22nd District was assaulted and robbed of his firearm during the confrontation.
In an act of self-defense, the officer managed to disarm the attacker and fire the assailant’s weapon. The suspect then fled the scene in a black BMW sedan, which later struck the officer as it sped away, last seen near 9th and Cumberland Streets.
This afternoon, a major development occurred as 25th District Officers arrested a male suspect at G and Hilton Streets. The suspect is described as a Black male, aged between 25 to 30, with braids and a medium build, last seen wearing a white tank top, tan pants, and white New Balance sneakers.

Known by the nickname “Duke,” he is considered armed and dangerous due to possessing the officer’s firearm. The investigation continues, with efforts focused on apprehending female co-defendants and recovering the stolen weapon.
Additionally, authorities are calling for public assistance to identify several females involved in the incident. These individuals are believed to have interfered with the officer’s efforts to detain the male suspect, contributing to his escape.
