GLEN DALE, WV—West Virginia Senator Mike Maroney, 56, was arrested this week following an incident at Gumby’s Cigarette & Beer World where he allegedly engaged in sexual gratification. The event took place in the video lottery room of the establishment on the afternoon of Aug. 4, but the arrest was not made until Tuesday.
According to a criminal complaint, when police arrived at the scene, they interviewed two female employees.
The employees reported that Maroney had exited the back room, where he had been using a gaming machine, to use the ATM. At this time, he was observed breathing heavily and touching himself.
Further investigation by the staff using CCTV revealed Maroney mast-rbating. A staff member, prompted by her supervisor, contacted the police while the act was ongoing, informing the dispatcher of the situation immediately.
The legal proceedings against Maroney are moving forward as the local authorities continue to handle the case.
