Man shot and beaten in brutal attack inside NJ home

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 34-year-old man was rushed to the hospital early Monday after being found shot and beaten inside a home on Brookshire Road in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township.

Police responded at approximately 5:33 a.m. to a report of a gunshot victim. Officers arriving at the scene discovered the man inside the residence with a gunshot wound to his right leg and signs of blunt force trauma to the head. A tourniquet was applied before paramedics transported him to Cooper University Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

One person of interest was detained at the scene. Charges are pending as investigators from the Gloucester Township Police Department and Camden County Prosecutor’s Office continue their work.

Officials said there is no known threat to the community.
