Brooklyn, NY – A 17-year-old boy was shot in the arm on a Sunset Park street in broad daylight Saturday, sparking a manhunt for the suspect who fled the scene.

The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. in front of 184 21st Street, near Fourth Avenue, in the 72nd Precinct.

The teen was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital by private transportation and is now in stable condition.

Police said an unidentified suspect opened fire for unknown reasons, striking the teen in the left arm before speeding off in a getaway vehicle. The motive behind the shooting has not yet been determined, and the NYPD has not disclosed whether the shooter and victim knew each other.

The incident occurred in a busy residential area, just blocks from a playground and several schools. Officers quickly canvassed the neighborhood and reviewed surveillance footage from nearby buildings as they searched for leads.

Detectives released an image of the suspect on Friday and are now urging the public to help identify the man, described only as armed and dangerous. He was last seen fleeing the scene in an unknown vehicle, which has not yet been recovered.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
