Woman, 23, gunned down in car on quiet Baltimore street

BALTIMORE, MD — A 23-year-old woman was fatally shot Sunday morning while sitting in a vehicle in the city’s Southwest District, police said.

At approximately 10:41 a.m. on May 11, officers responded to the 4100 block of Mount Wood Road following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical staff.

Detectives seek leads in fatal Southwest District shooting

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and are working to identify the person or persons responsible. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin and have not disclosed a motive or suspect description.
