Police offer reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest in fatal Valley Avenue shooting

WASHINGTON, DC — A 24-year-old man was shot to death in Southeast DC over the weekend, and detectives are now asking for the public’s help as they work to identify the person responsible.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded at approximately 9:48 p.m. Saturday, July 25, after receiving reports of gunfire in the 1200 block of Valley Avenue Southeast DC.

When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound.

DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene, but after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim was pronounced dead.

Police identified the victim as Dayquan Miller, 24, of Southeast DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch is continuing to investigate the fatal shooting.

Anyone with information about the homicide is asked not to take action but to contact police at 202-727-9099 or submit an anonymous tip by texting 50411.
