NEWARK, NJ – A three-year-old boy was shot in the leg while sitting inside a car in Newark city officials reported today. The incident happened at the 200 block of Broadway at around 1:15 pm on Wednesday. The boy was inside a car with two adults when gunfire erupted, striking him. Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said his department is not sure whether the fire originated from inside or outside the car. The boy was sent to University Hospital where he is recovering in stable condition.
