30-year-old man found shot to death in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — Gunfire erupted late Thursday night in Northeast DC, leaving a 30-year-old man dead in what police are investigating as a homicide.

Just before 11 p.m., officers from the Fifth District responded to reports of shots fired on the 600 block of Edgewood Street NE. Arriving at the scene, they found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS were called, but despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has been identified as Tyrone Burch, a resident of Northeast Washington, according to police.

The investigation remains active, and detectives are seeking information from the public. Anyone with knowledge of the incident is encouraged to contact law enforcement at (202) 727-9099 or to submit an anonymous tip via the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with the case.
