BALTIMORE, MD – A 43-year-old woman was shot on West Caton Avenue in Southwest Baltimore shortly after midnight Sunday, leaving her hospitalized while detectives work to determine who opened fire.

Baltimore Police officers responded to the 2700 block of West Caton Avenue at approximately 12:18 a.m. following a reported shooting.

Officers found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Police described her injury as non-life-threatening and said she was in stable condition.

Investigators did not disclose where on her body the woman was wounded or provide details about the circumstances leading to the shooting.

No suspect description or arrest was announced in the initial police advisory.

Southwest District shooting detectives are investigating the case.
