47-Year-Old Killed in Pedestrian Involved Crash in Rockville

ROCKVILLE, MD – A fatal pedestrian accident on Snouffer School Road is currently under investigation by the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU).

The incident transpired on Saturday, October 7th, in the 8200 block of Snouffer School Road, near Bonanza Way. At roughly 8:58 p.m., both Montgomery County Police and Montgomery County Fire Rescue received a call about a vehicular collision involving a pedestrian.

Upon their arrival, officers found 47-year-old Carlos Tapia-Sosa from Rockville, lying on the road. Tapia-Sosa was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the involved silver 2012 Hyundai Elantra stayed at the crash site.

Preliminary findings from the CRU detectives indicate that the Elantra was moving west on Snouffer School Road when Tapia-Sosa, who was crossing from south to north, was hit in the second lane of the westbound road.
