$50K Powerball ticket sold at Bay Shore convenience store

Bay Shore, N.Y. — A third-prize-winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold in Bay Shore, the New York Lottery announced Sunday.

The ticket, sold at Om Sai Ram Ji at 184 Howells Road, matched four of the five numbers plus the Powerball in the Dec. 2 drawing.

Powerball numbers are drawn from a pool of one to 69, with the red Power Ball selected separately from a pool of one to 26. Drawings are held three times a week at 10:59 p.m., offering jackpots that can reach into the hundreds of millions.

The New York Lottery, which contributed $3.8 billion to public education funding in the 2023-2024 fiscal year, remains North America’s largest and most profitable lottery organization.

The identity of the winning ticket holder has not yet been revealed.
