61-Year-Old Man, Assaulted for His Phone on NYC Subway Train

NEW YORK, NY – An assault and attempted theft occurred on a northbound “W” train this Wednesday night. A 61-year-old man was attacked and his cellphone was temporarily stolen by an unidentified male.

The incident happened at around 9:50 PM. The assailant, described as a 60-year-old male with a dark complexion, about 6 feet tall, weighing 220 lbs, and having short gray hair, forcibly removed the cellphone from the victim’s pocket. After a brief struggle during which the victim was punched multiple times, the assailant dropped the cellphone and fled the scene.

The victim, who refused medical attention, described the suspect as last seen wearing a gray jacket and blue jeans. No arrests have been made as of yet.
