66-Year-Old Brooklyn Man Killed, Another Critically Injured in Brutal Street Assault

BROOKLYN, NY – An early morning altercation in Brooklyn resulted in the death of a 66-year-old man and left another critically injured. Police and emergency services were dispatched to West 9th Street just after 4:30 a.m. yesterday morning following a 911 call reporting two men lying unconscious on the ground.

The victims, found with severe head trauma, were rushed to Maimonides Medical Center. Carlos Guaman, 66, of 14th Avenue, Brooklyn, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second victim, a 52-year-old male, remains in critical but stable condition.

Investigators learned that the men were assaulted by an unidentified assailant who attacked them, causing head injuries, before escaping in a vehicle heading north on West 9 Street. As of now, no arrests have been made. The New York City Police Department continues its investigation into this violent incident, seeking leads to apprehend the perpetrator.
