71-Year-Old Man Assaulted by Roommate in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — On July 20, 2024, at approximately 11:40 a.m., New Rochelle Police responded to a call at 463 Pelham Road where a male resident was heard screaming for help. Upon arrival, officers found a 71-year-old male victim who reported being assaulted by his roommate, Kathleen Ganley.

The investigation revealed that a physical dispute occurred between the two residents. Ganley, 58, allegedly broke a vase over the victim’s head, stabbed him multiple times, and prevented him from calling the police. Both Ganley and the victim sustained injuries and were treated at a local hospital.

Kathleen Ganley was arrested and charged with assault and unlawful imprisonment. The specific charges include:

  • Assault 1st Degree (NYS Penal Law Section 120.10) – B Felony
  • Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree (NYS Penal Law Section 135.10) – E Felony

The New Rochelle Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
