9-Year-Old Boy, Man Shot Wednesday Night in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 23 — A shooting in North Philadelphia left a 9-year-old boy and an adult male injured on Wednesday evening, according to police. The incident occurred in the 600 block of North 12th Street in the 9th District at approximately 6:19 p.m.

The boy sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and was transported to Jefferson Hospital by police. He is currently in stable condition, authorities said. The adult male, who was shot multiple times, was also taken to Jefferson Hospital and remains in critical condition.

Police have secured the scene, but no arrests have been made. A firearm was recovered from inside the residence, though the motive for the shooting remains unclear.
