QUEENS, NY – Naquan Young, a 46-year-old Queens resident, faces multiple charges including manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, second-degree assault, and leaving the scene of a collision, stemming from a fatal accident that occurred in 2019.
On the early morning of September 10, 2019, police were called to the scene of a vehicle collision at the intersection of 111th Avenue and 126th Street in the 106th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers found a 72-year-old woman with severe bodily trauma lying in the roadway. Emergency Medical Services pronounced her deceased at the scene.
The investigation led by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad revealed that Young was driving a 2004 Lexus RX330 westbound on 111th Avenue when he ran a red light at 126th Street, colliding with a northbound 2002 Honda CRV. The impact of the collision resulted in the ejection and subsequent death of the 72-year-old female passenger in the Honda.
Young fled the scene following the incident but has since been apprehended and charged. He is currently awaiting further legal proceedings related to these serious charges.
