Gunfire Erupts Minutes Apart in Two D.C. Neighborhoods

Washington, D.C. – In just five minutes early Sunday morning, two men were shot in separate incidents in Northeast and Southwest D.C..

At 1:20 a.m., the D.C. Metro Police Department officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Just minutes later, at approximately 1:25 a.m., Officers rushed to the Unit block of District Square Southwest, between Wharf Street and Maine Avenue, responding to another shooting. They found a man who had been shot.
