Public Intoxication Arrest Made in Wilkes-Barre Public Square

Wilkes-Barre, PA — An incident of public intoxication occurred at the Public Square on Thursday evening. Michael Walter, a 53-year-old resident of Wilkes-Barre, was arrested following a disturbance at a local event.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police were called to the scene at 6:39 PM after reports of a disorderly male. According to the complainant, who was working as a DJ, Walter began yelling and subsequently knocked over a speaker.

Upon arrival, officers observed that Walter was significantly under the influence of alcohol, posing a threat to both himself and others. He was taken into custody and held until he was sober.
