D.C. Officers Nab Suspect in Back-to-Back Assaults

WASHINGTON, D.C. — An arrest was made following two assaults in Northwest D.C. on Monday morning.

At approximately 8:59 a.m., officers responded to an assault report at the intersection of 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Northwest. Upon arrival, they found two victims who had been assaulted by the same suspect, one of whom was attacked with a rock. Both victims received on-site treatment from D.C. Fire and EMS.

Officers quickly located the suspect nearby and made an arrest. After further investigation, 46-year-old John Kennedy, who has no fixed address, was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Rock) and Simple Assault.
