One dead, another injured in Upper East Side assault; no arrests made

NEW YORK — A man was found dead and another seriously injured after an assault inside an Upper East Side apartment on Sunday afternoon, according to police.

Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:30 p.m. at 232 East 95th Street, within the 19th Precinct. Upon arrival, they discovered an unidentified male, unconscious and unresponsive, with trauma to his chest and neck. EMS personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

A second individual, a 27-year-old man, was also found at the location with multiple lacerations. He was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Police recovered two knives from the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
