WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Dumfries man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after attempting to steal a motorcycle from another man at a traffic light in Woodbridge, police said.

Officers responded to the area of Dale Boulevard near Gideon Drive at 3:58 p.m. on November 29 to investigate the incident. The victim, a 24-year-old man, reported that an unknown individual approached him while he was stopped at a traffic light and demanded his motorcycle.

During the confrontation, the suspect, later identified as Edwood Christopher Spencer, 48, threatened the victim and threw a glass bottle at him before the victim left the area and contacted police. No injuries were reported.

Officers located Spencer nearby and detained him without incident. Following the investigation, Spencer, of 3027 Sigel Court in Dumfries, was charged with attempted robbery. He is being held without bond, and a court date is pending.
