Entenmann's bakery outlet suddenly shuts down in brick township

BRICK TOWNSHIP-Entenmann’s Bakery Outlet has closed down two stores including one in Brick Township and another in Staten Island. Entenmann’s ceased local production of their products in August of 2014 with the closure of its Bay Shore Long Island plant.

Stores were closed abruptly on June 29th.

“The decision to close one of our outlet stores is never an easy one and happens for a variety of reasons,” the company said. “We don’t make these decisions lightly and want to assure our consumers that they can still purchase all of their favorite products at their local grocery stores.”

Entenmann’s continues to operate New Jersey stores in Clementon, Edison, and Wayne.

Shoppers were not happy to learn about the closing.

“Can’t believe the powers-that-be closed our location. The shelves were consistently empty because of great loyal customers. Please reconsider. I miss my Entenmann’s, Arnold, Levy’s rye and everything else,” said Jen MacLachlan Taylor.

“I can’t believe some GENIUS thought it was a good idea to close this location. Please rethink your decision and bring it back. There are so many people in this town that truly depended on the reasonable prices,” wrote Linda Beese.

” I just got home from there, totally empty, no shelves, no nothing? Did they move the store? Called and got no answer,” said another resident who was unaware of the closing.
