WASHINGTON, D.C. — Investigators are seeking help from the public to identify a suspect involved in two separate vehicle-related thefts that occurred hours apart on the same block in Southwest Washington.
The first incident occurred on Wednesday, April 16, at approximately 11:20 a.m. in the 900 block of 6th Street SW. A suspect forcefully entered a parked vehicle, stole property, and fled the scene, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Later that day, at approximately 6:05 p.m., a vehicle was stolen from the same block. The suspect fled with the vehicle, which was later recovered. Both cases remain under investigation.
Surveillance cameras in the area captured an image of the suspect, which has since been released to the public. No arrests have been made, and the suspect’s identity remains unknown.
Police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person responsible.
