At approximately 1:44 a.m., police responded to the 1200 block of Lehigh Avenue in the 25th District, where a high-speed vehicle struck a pedestrian. Preliminary findings indicate a white Honda, traveling westbound, struck 32-year-old Nafeece Acquil Jenkins as he attempted to cross the street. The impact launched Jenkins onto the car and then into the westbound lane.

Philadelphia Fire Department medics pronounced Jenkins deceased at the scene at 1:48 a.m. The striking vehicle was later found abandoned in a lot on the 1200 block of Park Avenue. Police have not announced any arrests or identifications of a driver.
