NEWBURGH, NY — A Hudson Valley lottery player is celebrating a big win after purchasing a $15,881 top-prize ticket in Wednesday night’s TAKE 5 Evening drawing at a local convenience store in Newburgh.

The New York Lottery confirmed that the winning ticket was sold at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plank Road. The ticket matched all five numbers drawn during the October 9 TAKE 5 Evening game, securing the top prize.

TAKE 5 is a draw game where players choose five numbers from 1 through 39, with drawings held twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prize.
