GALLOWAY, N.J. – Historic Smithville will go to the dogs — and cats — on Saturday afternoon as Paw Dazzle hosts its annual Costume Pet Parade, one of the village’s most beloved fall traditions.
The parade kicks off at 1 p.m. and is free for both participants and spectators.
Organizers say more than 100 pets are expected to strut through the village in creative Halloween costumes, from classic pumpkins to movie-inspired characters.

A parade of paws and creativity
Each fall, pet owners from across South Jersey gather at Historic Smithville for the event, showcasing their animals in elaborate costumes. Past parades have featured dogs dressed as superheroes, cats in matching family themes, and even costumed ducks and bunnies.
Fun for visitors and families
Spectators can line the village’s cobblestone walkways to cheer on the furry (and feathered) participants as they parade past Smithville’s shops and restaurants. Judges will select the most original and entertaining costumes, with small prizes awarded.
Part of Smithville’s seasonal festivities
