Two TAKE 5 players strike $9.6K top prizes in Penn Yan and Woodside

NEW YORK – Two lucky New York Lottery players each scored a $9,696 top prize in the October 17 TAKE 5 Midday drawing, with winning tickets sold in both upstate and downstate locations, officials announced.

One of the winning tickets was purchased at Penn Yan Express Stop, located at 101 North Avenue in Penn Yan, Yates County. The other was sold at Shriji Corporation, a convenience store located at 59-39 Queens Boulevard in Woodside, Queens.

TAKE 5 drawings are held twice daily, at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with players selecting five numbers from a pool of one through 39. Players have up to one year from the drawing date to claim their winnings.

The New York Lottery remains the most profitable lottery in North America, generating $3.6 billion for public education during the 2024–2025 fiscal year.
