Gunfire erupts on Southeast DC street as woman shot and suspects flee
Washington, DC — A woman was left wounded after a late-night shooting on a Southeast DC street that ended with a walk-in hospital visit and a manhunt now underway for two suspects caught on camera.
The gunfire rang out just before 11 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, in the 5000 block of H Street, Southeast, where officers responded after hearing shots echo through the neighborhood. Though no victim was found at the scene, the trail soon led to a nearby hospital, where an adult female arrived on her own suffering from gunshot wounds.
She was reported to be conscious and breathing when officers located her, but details on her condition have not been released.
Surveillance footage from the area captured two individuals believed to be involved in the shooting. The Metropolitan Police have released still photos and video of the suspects in hopes the public can help identify them.
