Manhattan player hits big with TAKE 5 top prize ticket sold on Second Avenue

NEW YORK, NY — A lucky New Yorker struck gold in Monday’s TAKE 5 Evening drawing after purchasing a top-prize ticket worth $15,759.50 at a Manhattan check-cashing location.

The winning ticket was sold at The Check Cashing Place at 1869 2nd Ave, bringing a wave of excitement to the Upper East Side neighborhood. The prize comes from the Oct. 22 TAKE 5 Evening draw, one of the New York Lottery’s twice-daily games.

TAKE 5 players select five numbers from a field of 1 through 39, and top prizes vary based on the number of tickets sold and the number of winners. Drawings are held every day at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with prizes claimable for up to one year after the winning date.
