PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A 47-year-old man was hospitalized early Friday morning after being shot while sitting inside his vehicle during a sudden burst of gunfire, police said.
The victim told investigators he heard gunshots around 4:22 a.m. before realizing he had been struck in the head.
He managed to escape the vehicle and call for help before medics arrived.

Victim escapes vehicle after hearing gunfire
