$1 million Powerball ticket sold at Berks County supermarket

EXETER TOWNSHIP, PA – One lucky Powerball player is holding a ticket worth $1 million after matching five white balls in Saturday’s drawing, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery.

The winning ticket was sold at GIANT Food Stores, located at 4655 Perkiomen Avenue in Exeter Township. It matched the numbers 2, 26, 43, 44, and 62 — missing only the red Powerball number, which was 22 — to land the game’s second-tier prize.

The supermarket will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The prize, subject to applicable taxes, remains unclaimed as of Monday.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing saw more than 36,600 Pennsylvania tickets win prizes of varying amounts. Over 8,100 of those were purchased with Power Play, and more than 4,800 were played with Double Play.

Winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Tickets purchased in person should be signed immediately to establish ownership. Online winnings are processed directly to player accounts.

The Powerball jackpot has now rolled to an estimated annuity of $419 million, with a cash value of $198 million for the next drawing.
