Bronx player wins $18K in Take 5 midday drawing with ticket from University Fresh Market

BRONX, NY – A Take 5 player in the Bronx scored a top prize of $18,408 in Wednesday’s midday drawing with a winning ticket sold at University Fresh Market on University Avenue, New York Lottery officials announced.

The ticket matched all five numbers in the December 11 midday draw, securing the day’s top prize. The winning slip was purchased at 1707 University Avenue, a high-traffic location in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx.

Take 5 drawings are held twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with players selecting five numbers from a field of 1 through 39. Prizes must be claimed within one year from the date of the drawing.

The winner has not yet been publicly identified. Retailers who sell top-prize winning tickets are eligible for bonuses from the Lottery.

The New York Lottery remains the most profitable lottery system in North America, contributing $3.6 billion this year alone to support public education across the state.
