Baltimore woman hits $50K Holiday Raffle jackpot after birthday and Pick 3 win streak
Baltimore, MD – A woman capped off a celebratory December with a $50,000 Maryland Lottery Holiday Raffle win, just days after claiming a Pick 3 prize and marking her birthday in Baltimore.
Known by the alias “Birthday Queen,” the winner claimed her prize on Wednesday after realizing her ticket matched the winning number drawn on December 8 in the second Early Bird raffle. The ticket, number 029641, was purchased more than a month earlier on November 11 at the Moravia Shell Gas Station located at 5920 Moravia Road.
She said the realization came when she returned to the store and saw a sign announcing that a winning Holiday Raffle ticket had been sold there. After retrieving her ticket at home and confirming the number, she immediately recognized she had won one of the limited Early Bird prizes offered ahead of the final grand prize drawing.
The win follows a streak of luck for the Baltimore resident, who also won the December 17 Pick 3 midday drawing by playing the repeating numbers 8-8-8. Her raffle win earned her $50,000, which she plans to use for home improvement projects.
Despite the $50,000 prize, her Holiday Raffle ticket remains eligible for the $1 million grand prize drawing set for January 2. That drawing will also award ten prizes of $100,000 and 10,000 additional prizes ranging from $50 to $500.
Although her ticket is not eligible for the final $50,000 Early Bird drawing on December 22, tickets purchased by December 21 will still qualify. All raffle tickets — regardless of when purchased — are valid for the January 2 drawing, unless the 325,000 ticket cap is reached earlier.
Holiday Raffle tickets have been on sale since November 3 and are available at all Maryland Lottery retailers. Tickets cost $20 and are sold in sequential order, beginning with ticket 000001.
