NEW YORK, NY – A 24-year-old man was hospitalized after being struck multiple times in the face with a baseball bat during a violent assault late Sunday night on the Upper West Side, police said.
The attack occurred around 10:35 p.m. near West End Avenue and West 107th Street, where the victim was approached by an unidentified man who began hitting him without warning. The suspect fled on foot westbound toward Riverside Park immediately after the assault.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside with facial injuries. Police described his condition as stable.

Investigators are searching for a male with a light complexion, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slim build. He was last seen dressed entirely in black and carrying a black baseball bat.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
