Lucky Bleecker Street ticket scores $1M lottery prize

Manhattan lottery player scores $1K a week for life in New Year’s Eve CASH4LIFE drawing

NEW YORK, NY — A lucky ticket sold at a Manhattan café has scored its holder a life-changing prize of $1,000 a week for life, after matching five numbers in the December 31 CASH4LIFE drawing to win the game’s second-place prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at Players Cafe, located at 241 Bleecker Street in Manhattan. According to the New York Lottery, the second-prize ticket is worth a guaranteed minimum of $1 million and earns the winner a steady stream of $1,000 every week for the rest of their life.

CASH4LIFE drawings are held nightly at 9 p.m., with numbers selected from a pool of 1 to 60 and a separate Cash Ball drawn from 1 to 4. To win the second prize, a player must match all five main numbers but not the Cash Ball.

Officials have not disclosed the identity of the winner, and no information has been released about whether the ticket was claimed as of Friday morning.

Lottery players have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim any prize in New York State.

The New York Lottery remains the largest and most profitable in North America, generating $3.6 billion in funding for New York public schools in the most recent fiscal year.
