Shots fired in Wilmington leaves BMW damaged and searching for answers

Wilmington, DE – A shooting incident occurred on Friday night, prompting an investigation by Delaware State Police. Troopers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 8:30 PM on the 700 block of Woodside Avenue.

The victim was driving a 2019 BMW X5 when he turned onto Marsh Road from the parking lot of Branmar Plaza. Shortly after, the driver heard glass shattering and noticed the rear window of the vehicle had been broken.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident. A projectile was recovered from the BMW, which had sustained a shattered rear window.

There are currently no details regarding the suspect or suspects involved. Surveillance footage related to the incident is not available.

The Criminal Investigations Unit is actively seeking information from the public. Witnesses or anyone with information are encouraged to contact Detective B. Timmons at (302) 365-8434.
