Teens busted after armed carjacking in broad daylight on Montpelier Street
Baltimore, MD – A trio of teenage boys, including two with criminal histories, were arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint and stealing his car in a midday carjacking in East Baltimore, police said.
The incident unfolded just after 12:00 p.m. in the 1500 block of Montpelier Street, where a 49-year-old man was approached by three unidentified suspects who robbed him of cash and drove off in his 2021 Toyota Camry.
Officers from the Eastern District quickly responded, and with aerial support from the Foxtrot Aviation Unit, tracked the stolen vehicle to the area of Belair Road and Erdman Avenue.
The three suspects—two aged 14 and one aged 15—abandoned the car but were caught shortly afterward, according to police.
Further investigation revealed that two of the boys had already been arrested before on charges involving a handgun, stolen cars, and robbery.
All three suspects were taken to the Juvenile Justice Center and now face charges including armed robbery and carjacking.
No injuries were reported during the incident, and the vehicle was recovered.
