Baltimore driver pulled from burning car after deadly crash
Baltimore, MD – A car erupted in flames after slamming into a utility pole on E. Northern Parkway Monday night, leaving one man dead and another pulled from the burning wreckage as emergency crews rushed to the scene.
The crash unfolded around 8:46 p.m. in the 2000 block of E. Northern Parkway, where Northeast District officers responded to reports of a serious motor vehicle collision. When they arrived, they found a vehicle engulfed in fire.
Preliminary findings indicate the vehicle caught fire after striking a pole along the roadway. Individuals at the scene pulled a 22-year-old male driver from the burning car before first responders arrived.
A male occupant inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of family.
Crash Team investigators took control of the investigation and remained on scene to document evidence and determine the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
