Teen charged as adult after attempted carjackings in Baltimore neighborhoods

Baltimore, MD — A series of attempted carjackings involving multiple teens ended with a 15-year-old in custody after victims escaped and officers tracked down the group in two Baltimore neighborhoods.

The incidents occurred Saturday in the areas of Daytona Avenue and Towanda and Ridgewood roads, where individuals reported being approached by three teens attempting to take their vehicles.

In both encounters, the victims were able to get away without injury, prompting immediate alerts to officers in the area.

Responding units located individuals matching the descriptions nearby. One suspect fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief pursuit. Officers recovered a BB gun that resembled a firearm.

The 15-year-old has been charged as an adult and faces multiple felony offenses in connection with the attempted carjackings.

Investigators are continuing efforts to identify and locate the remaining suspects believed to be involved.
