GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A male pedestrian remains in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle early Thursday at a Gloucester Township intersection, police said.

The crash happened around 1:55 a.m. at Kearsley Road and Hazeltop Drive, where Gloucester Township Police Department officers responded along with EMS and fire personnel.

Victim found on roadside after impact

Emergency responders located the man on the side of the road after he was hit, and crews immediately began lifesaving efforts, according to Gloucester Township Police.

Investigators said the pedestrian was standing in the lane of travel at the time of the collision. He was struck by a vehicle, carried onto the hood, and ultimately came to rest on a grassy area nearby.

The victim was stabilized at the scene and transported to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden, where he remains in critical condition.
