The Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol will begin daily lifeguard coverage Saturday, with guards stationed on all beaches through Labor Day weekend.
WILDWOOD CREST, N.J. — Beachgoers heading to the Jersey Shore this weekend will find full-time lifeguard protection in place across Wildwood Crest as the summer season officially ramps up.
The Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol announced that daily beach coverage begins Saturday, June 13, with lifeguards on duty at all borough beaches from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day through Sept. 7.
Officials are reminding residents and visitors that swimming should only take place when lifeguards are present.
“The WCBP strongly urges beachgoers to enter the ocean only when lifeguards are on duty,” the borough said in an announcement.
Beach transport service available
In addition to lifeguard protection, Wildwood Crest will continue offering beach transportation assistance for elderly and disabled visitors.
The service will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., helping beachgoers access the shoreline more easily during the busy summer season.
The transportation program has become a popular amenity for visitors who may have difficulty navigating the borough’s wide beaches.
Safety remains top priority
With summer crowds expected to increase significantly in the coming weeks, beach officials are emphasizing water safety and encouraging visitors to swim near lifeguard stands.
Ocean conditions can change quickly, even on calm days, making lifeguard supervision critical for swimmer safety.
