Teen charged as adult after greenbelt shooting lands second arrest — handcuff

Two suspects are now facing attempted murder charges after a May shooting that injured a juvenile, police said.

GREENBELT, MD — A second arrest has been made in connection with a Greenbelt shooting that wounded a juvenile earlier this year, with police announcing that one suspect is being charged as an adult.

The Greenbelt Police Department said the shooting occurred on May 11 in the 7300 block of Hanover Parkway.

According to investigators, one juvenile male was injured in the shooting and has since been released from the hospital to continue his recovery.

Police said Willian Reyes-Ramos was arrested July 8 with assistance from the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.

A second suspect, a juvenile male, was arrested July 10 and is being charged as an adult for his alleged role in the shooting. Police said his identity is not being released because of his age.

Reyes-Ramos is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and use of a firearm in the commission of a violent felony.

The juvenile suspect faces charges including attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felonious crime and additional firearms-related offenses.

The charges are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
