State Police say Daniel Conklin has been missing for more than two weeks after he was last seen walking near a Laurens highway.
LAURENS, NY — New York State Police are asking for the public’s help as the search continues for a man who disappeared more than two weeks ago after he was last seen walking along a highway in Otsego County.
Daniel E. Conklin was last seen by family members on July 14. Police said he was last observed walking along State Highway 205 near the Mirabito convenience store in Laurens.
Conklin is described as a 5-foot-11 white man weighing about 212 pounds with reddish hair, a reddish beard and blue eyes. He has tattoos on both arms.
He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve Calvin Klein shirt with the logo across the chest, blue jeans, a tan trucker-style hat with writing on it, black Puma sneakers, gray socks and carrying a black-and-white animal-print Nike backpack.
Investigators said Conklin does not have a cell phone with him.
Since he was reported missing, troopers have checked with family members and friends, searched local hospitals and hotels, followed up on reported sightings and searched the area commonly known as “Tent City” in Oneonta, but have not located him.
